There are several different styles of yoga and while our staff is trained to lead sessions that will accommodate a range of experience, here are a few recommendations to get the most out of your visit to our studio.
For your first yoga experience we recommend Yoga 101, Gentle, or Gentle/Moderate classes. Private instruction also available.
If you are looking for a more rigorous session, try the Moderate, Moderate/Vigorous or Vigorous classes.
Gentle: For beginners and everyone interested in increasing flexibility. Includes basic breathing practices as well as a variety of standing, sitting, and lying postures. This class is gentle enough for students of all ages and ability.
Moderate: For everyone, with a focus on both flexibility and strength. The practice includes a variety of foundational postures, including standing, seated, and on the floor). Instructors provide a high level of instruction and suggestions (ways to make movement less or more challenging). All levels will find an appropriate level of personal challenge in the movement as well as deep restoration.
Vigorous: For more experienced practitioners, with a focus on strength. This is a physically challenging class that develops strength and endurance. This class will make you sweat, and includes inversions, standing and seated postures!
Yin Yoga: This is a practice of long-held, supported, relaxing yoga poses that target the connective tissues of the body, such as ligaments and tendons. The focus of this class is releasing the body from chronic constriction due either to injury or repetitive motion. We pair this physical release with an exploration the circulation of chi or prana, our life force energy, throughout the body along the twelve energy meridians recognized by Chinese Medicine. The intention of Yin Yoga is to be relaxing and rejuvenating. It is appropriate for all levels.
Yoga 101: A four week series, starting the first Wednesday evening of each month. Designed to teach the fundamentals of yoga. Price is $65 for four week series, and includes a pass for one regularly scheduled yoga class of your choice upon completion of series.
